Faculty member gives tercentenary lecture at Adam Smith’s house

Sandrine Bergès from the Department of Philosophy recently gave the Fringe Tercentenary Lecture at the final permanent home of the Scottish Enlightenment thinker, Adam Smith. Department of Archaeology to direct excavations at Parnassos

Department of Archaeology has been granted approval to conduct excavations at the Byzantine site of Parnassos in Cappadocia. Faculty member wins international award

Sandrine Bergès has received an Emma Goldman Snowball award from the Flax Foundation. The award recognizes talented and innovative scholars working on feminist and inequality issues. Professor Bergès was nominated by the renowned scholar Ingrid Robeyns for her work on the history of feminism and women philosophers. This year’s awards were presented at a ceremony at the Vienna Institute for Human Sciences (IWM) on 6 September 2022.
